What is an Air Ambulance?

An air ambulance is a plane (typically a business class Jet) that has been fitted for medical transport. The plane will include advanced life support capabilities, medications, a stretcher and of course a trained medical staff.

How much does an air ambulance cost?

The costs vary depending upon a variety of services, but understandably are somewhat expensive. An Advisor can help you to understand the factors that affect your cost, how to find affordable solutions and what insurance reimbursements should be available to you.

How does an air ambulance service work?

We’ve designed our service to be as easy and stress free as possible. Typically, the process starts with an online request for information or a phone call. After some initial questions, our Advisor will provide a quote and a service agreement is reached. From there a Flight Coordinator works hand in hand with our Medical Director to set up the transfer and transportation of the patient. Who will accompany the patient during the flight?

Our Medical Director will assemble a medical staff to provide care and assistance to the patient during the flight. The medical staff is unique to each patient and is created based upon the individual’s medical needs. Any number of family members or secondary passengers can be accommodated to travel with the patient.

How soon can you schedule a flight?

Flights can be scheduled the same day as the initial phone call. If you have an urgent transport need, call immediately and we’ll start working to make the appropriate travel arrangements. In most cases, we prefer at least 24 hours notice.

How long does it take to receive a quote?

We pride ourselves on making the entire process as easy and hassle free as possible. Because of our extensive history and experience, we typically provide quotes within 15 minutes. More extreme cases or those that involve international travel may take a little longer.

Does your medical crew attend to the patient during ground transportation?

Yes, the medical staff will attend to the patient throughout the entire process. We travel with the ground ambulance and stay with the patient until they are checked in to their new medical center.
